The Development and Alumni Office is back for a second year of Fundraising and Special Projects, and Alumni Events...
Once again, Fairfax High School is experiencing the same financial hardship being experienced throughout the Los Angeles Unified School District and across the country. We continue working with not-for-profits such as Friends of Fairfax to establish new models for U.S. public schools: public/private partnerships.
Friends of Fairfax is funded through the Melrose Trading Post, a weekly antiques and collectibles flea market that that is allowed to take place Sundays in the parking lot of Fairfax High School. Through this collaboration, Fairfax has had some help establishing and/or continuing programs that other schools have been forced to cut.
For the second school year (2011-2012) Friends of Fairfax is providing funding for one full-time and two part-time staff for a Development and Alumni Office (DAO) on campus, with a full slate of alumni and fundraising activities. The DAO continues working to establish partnerships with local businesses and non-profit organizations in the Fairfax area and beyond. These partnerships are designed to support creative solutions and innovative instructional models that promote linked learning and are mutually beneficial to Fairfax High School and the partner organizations.
You are invited to come in and check out our office full of Alumni memorabilia, including yearbooks, and Hall of Fame memories.

We are always looking for ways to help support programs at FHS - both traditional and creative.
You are welcome to mail a general donation to Greenway Friends of Fairfax in support of the Development & Alumni Office, or check our Wish List for items needed and Scholarship information, where you can choose to donate for a specific item or cause.
